With an annual turnover exceeding £55 million, the company operates across a diverse range of sectors, specialising in new build construction, refurbishment, retrofit works, planned maintenance, reactive repairs, and roofing projects. The business delivers schemes ranging from £5 million to £50 million, combining traditional construction expertise with a modern approach to project delivery, sustainability, and customer service.

The Role

As Senior Estimator, you will play a pivotal role within the pre-construction team, taking ownership of the estimating process from initial enquiry through to tender submission. You will be responsible for producing accurate and commercially competitive cost plans and tenders across a broad range of construction projects.

Working closely with the Directors, Pre-Construction Team, Commercial Department, Operational Teams, Supply Chain Partners, and Clients, you will ensure all tender opportunities are assessed thoroughly, priced accurately, and submitted to the highest standard.

This role requires a commercially astute construction professional with a strong understanding of new build, refurbishment, social housing, and general construction projects, capable of identifying opportunities, managing risk, and contributing to the continued growth of the business.

Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the generation of profitable tenders for authorisation and submission in order
  • Maximise the order pipeline and its conversion into market share, revenue and operating profit within the business unit
  • Estimate the costs of projects in order to meet or exceed customers’ requirements
  • Recognise contractual, financial, technical and operational risks and to find opportunities to minimise risk and maximise gross profit
  • Support the fulfilment of the pipeline of contracts safely, on time, and to the required quality while maximising gross profit and customers' satisfaction
  • Implement all of the company's policies including those for SHE and risk management
  • Promote the company’s values towards its customers in order to meet or exceed their expectations, and fulfil the vision of becoming the most highly respected company in the industry

The ideal candidate will have experience in:

  • New Build / Civils experience (Essential)
  • Internal & External Refurbishment Project Management Experience (Essential)
  • Social Housing Experience (Essential)
  • Structural / General Construction Experience (Essential)
  • Minimum 5-year experience
