We are currently working with a main contracting company that are leading specialists in the industrial and commercial sectors, having worked with some of the leading names in these sectors, they have built a trusted network of clients and a strong track record of delivering complex projects and exceeding expectations.
The company currently turnover around £100 million but they plan to continue growing. Continuous progression has allowed them to continue reinvesting in the business so they can provide even bigger and better projects up to £30 million.
They have an excellent management team that all come from senior industry positions, who have managed businesses with turnover in excess of £200 million. Their wealth of knowledge provides them with the tools and knowledge to get the best out of individuals and build the right teams for each project.

The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to join the business at an exciting stage of growth. This is a key strategic role within the pre-construction team, responsible for leading bids and shaping projects from early-stage enquiry through to contract award.
You will be working closely with senior leadership, estimating, design, planning, and commercial teams to ensure that all submissions are commercially robust, technically viable, and aligned with the client’s expectations and delivery capability. The role requires a strong understanding of industrial and commercial construction, particularly within fast-paced design and build environments.
Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead and manage the full pre-construction process from enquiry through to handover to delivery teams
- Take ownership of tender submissions, ensuring high-quality, accurate and competitive bids
- Develop construction methodologies, sequencing strategies and bid programmes
- Work closely with estimating and commercial teams to ensure accurate pricing and risk management
- Lead value engineering exercises to optimise cost, buildability and programme
- Coordinate and manage design development during pre-construction stages
- Engage directly with clients, consultants and supply chain partners throughout the bid process
- Ensure compliance with employer requirements, specifications, and sustainability targets (including BREEAM where applicable)
- Support bid presentations, interviews and negotiations with clients
- Ensure a smooth and controlled handover from pre-construction to operational delivery teams
