The Company

We are currently collaborating with a premier design and build main contractor with an extensive project portfolio encompassing everything from residential refurbishment to large scale leisure and hotel schemes.

Established in the 80s, the company initially started as a fit out contractor before diversifying their projects in the 90s, as the company stands today, they are moving into the next level, with turnover increasing significantly in the last few years and a new organisational structure in place, bringing the resources and resilience necessary to take on bigger clients.

Specialisms include residential build and refurbishment, commercial office, hotel, leisure and healthcare renovation and interior fitout projects. In addition, they are experienced in the delivery of national rollout programmes for both public and private sector organisations.

Project examples:

  • Hospitality - Fit out of unit shell to form prep area; kitchen, pot wash zone, bar and restaurant – 850+ sq ft
  • Leisure – complete refurbishment of sports centre in Nottingham - including bespoke joinery, a full lighting system though-out, equipment rooms and flooring upgrade of the main gym area
  • Commercial – Office redesign and reconfigure – 3 floors
  • Residential – refurbishment of a super prime flat in West London - The scope of works comprised of a soft strip of the existing kitchen, bathrooms and floor

The Role

As a CAD Technician you will play a vital role in translating concepts, ideas, and technical specifications into precise 2D and 3D models that support the design and execution of engineering, architectural, or manufacturing projects.

This role ensures the accuracy and functionality of designs while contributing to project efficiency and compliance with industry standards.

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Following detailed instructions and interpreting complex diagrams to create or modify technical drawings
  • Translating verbal directions into accurate sketches and calculations, culminating in the production of finalized work
  • Developing plans, elevations, technical details, and building layouts
  • Managing the organization, storage, and retrieval of drawings
  • Creating maps, diagrams, and plans for construction projects and structural designs
  • Identifying problems and devising effective solutions
  • Conducting site visits to gather necessary information
  • Collaborating with architects, engineers, building services professionals, and other construction team members to produce precise plans and drawings
  • Utilizing various software tools to communicate instructions on materials, technical specifications, assembly processes, measurements, and site requirements
  • Converting complex technical information into clear, accurate drawings with minimal supervision
