The Company

We are currently working with dynamic and privately owned construction business that has a turnover in excess of £50 million and works predominantly within London and Zone 1 & 2.

They offer a boutique approach to clients, working on a range of commercial fit out schemes. The business has steadily grown over the years and specialises in CAT A & B fit out, specialised works and furniture schemes typically ranging between £1 million and £20+ million.

They pride themselves on being a fresh and exciting business and were born out of a desire to underpin true transparency in the construction and fit out industry.

The Role

Our client is currently seeking to recruit a Bid Designer to join their team in Central London.

As the Bid Designer you will form an integral part of the preconstruction team, providing creative direction on winning submissions.

You will be working directly with Directors and the design delivery teams, capturing winning themes at bid launch and ensure they are conveyed throughout the submission, portraying the offer in the best possible way and ensuring it is compliant with client requirements and reflective of the ethos and brand.

This role will be full time in the office.

Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Proposal Management:

  • Collaborate with Pre-Construction Directors, Marketing, and bid teams to strategize and produce winning proposals.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of bids from receipt to submission and project award.
  • Ensure submissions meet compliance and deliverable requirements, particularly for public and private sector PQQs, tenders, and frameworks.

Content and Quality Development:

  • Continuously update and enhance bid documents and content, focusing on improving quality and relevance.
  • Stay updated on market trends and legislation changes to refine bid content.

Creative Content and Design:

  • Transform complex written and numerical data into engaging visual representations such as diagrams, infographics, maps, and charts
  • Work within brand guidelines to ensure a consistent visual identity for proposals and projects
  • Innovate on design, creating unique "identities" for individual bids

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Partner with subject matter experts to extract insights and convert them into visual and written formats
  • Communicate and explain conceptual ideas through compelling design

Content Bank Management:

  • Maintain and update the content library with new designs and visual assets to enhance future bids
  • Ensure templates and branded formats are current and accessible for various projects

Speculative and Marketing Materials:

  • Design brochures, capability statements, and speculative documents responding to market opportunities
  • Develop exhibition materials and other collateral for non-bid projects

Technical and Creative Proficiency:

  • Work across multiple software and design platforms to produce professional-standard graphics
  • Develop visually compelling solutions that resonate with target audiences, ensuring a high standard of delivery across all formats
