The Role
Our client is currently seeking to recruit a Senior Estimator to work on a variety of refurbishment projects.
As the Senior Estimator you will play a crucial role in the preconstruction phase, responsible for preparing and overseeing competitive cost estimates for construction projects.
This senior level position requires advanced knowledge of construction methodologies, extensive experience, strong leadership, and the ability to guide the estimation process effectively.
The Senior Estimator will manage complex projects, mentor junior estimators, and contribute to high-level decision-making.
Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Lead the detailed analysis of project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates
• Develop thorough and accurate cost estimates by identifying labour, material, and time requirements through in-depth study of proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
• Leverage advanced estimation techniques and tools to ensure precision in cost forecasting
• Strategically prepare and submit competitive bid proposals for high-value construction projects
• Evaluate, interpret, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotes and proposals to ensure the best value
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favourable terms and competitive pricing
• Conduct comprehensive site visits to assess project scope, constraints, and potential risks
• Utilize historical data and industry benchmarks to refine cost estimates and improve accuracy
• Identify, analyse, and mitigate potential project risks and uncertainties in cost estimations
• Act as a key liaison between project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to ensure alignment and clarity in project scopes and cost expectations
• Lead pre-bid meetings, bid strategy sessions, and post-bid reviews to drive successful bid outcomes
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior estimators and other team members, fostering professional
